Are we perfect in America? No, and we never claimed to be. We have problems to solve and we tend to solve them. But compared to the history of the rest of the world, we are a beacon of good. Whenever I visit a foreign country, no matter the natural beauty of it's land or cities, I am always glad to be back in the United States. I NEVER dream about living anywhere else in the world. This is still the land of liberty and opportunity. No other country comes close.

Yes, I just don't get it:
The United States has provided billions of dollars in economic aid to the rest of the world. From earthquake, flood and famine relief to military assistance and direct intervention to save innocent lives, to propping up failed economies. The billions of dollars didn't just fall out of the sky, it came from American workers pay checks in the form of taxation.
The United States allows millions of foreigners each year to enter legally our borders to share in the dream of over two centuries. We allow amnesty for thousands more illegal aliens every year. We educate their children, house them and feed them through welfare payments and charitible works. The money for this did not fall out of the sky either. Again hard working American taxpayers foot the bill.
As an American taxpayer of some consequence (at least I think so when I review my tax returns), I would just like to say to anyone in other countries who hates the United States. . . FUCK OFF! I don't give a shit what you think of us. And most Americans I know don't care either. Oh yes, we'll continue to help you out with military, economic and charitible assistance, but as for me. . . YOU CAN KISS MY ASS. I realize that not all people in foreign countries hate us and most of them are decent, hard working people. But for you who hate us, the expressions above stand.

``Quality Time'' in Field Service: Fact or Fiction
by Room 215 inbased on comments in various threads, it seems that many of you are acquainted with the various ``dodges'' jws use to strech out their field service time: foot-dragging, driving around on return visits from one far-flung end of the territory to the other, the skilful avoidance of contact with housholders, coffee breaks, etc.
etc.. do you have any impression of how pervasive these time-wasting such practices are, and what proportion of the time reported by jws is actually bogus and not spent productively?
or, put another way, how rare is is to encounter who just loves to go out and who uses his/her time efficiently from beginning to end?.

I always disliked door to door work. It was embarrassing to have to go to the doors of grade school, middle school and high school students I knew. When I got out of school and pioneered I spent 70% of my field service time by myself going through the motions. I'd meet for service and make up some excuse that I had a bible study out in the sticks or some other bogus reason to get away from the crowd. I'd then knock on a door to start my time, grab a paper and have coffee somewhere where I'd never be seen. Needless to say, I don't miss it.

I used to use the ouija board to help me study for the Watchtower lesson. It even told me which questions to answer during the meeting. Very helpful indeed.

Calico Cat:
I saw this on another board earlier today. Thanks for posting it here.
However, there is a tremendous amount of Anti-American sentiment here. Believe it or not, there are quite a few posting here who believe the United States brought onto themselves the terrorist attack of last Tuesday.
Very sad indeed. I guess the anti-government leanings of Jehovah's Witnesses is not easy for some of these folks to shake.

The events of last Tuesday should have convinced us all that terroism cannot be tolerated in a "civilized" world. Unfortunately, a significant portion of our world population isn't civilized. Terrorist acts will not be wiped out by the actions of the United States military. That is only going to be brought about by a transformation of the minds and hearts of those who would terrorize.
I am however, reminded of the words of someone in the Nixon administration who said "When you have them by the balls their hearts and minds follow." I believe this will be the theme of our future military actions.
Tuesday was an atack on the United States. Not Israel, not Europe or Asia. My gut feeling is, and pardon my French, they have fucked with the wrong country.

Religious Fanatacism

the hi-jackers of the airliners that crashed today no doubt thought they'd immediately be sitting next to allah this-afternoon.

I did not intend to, with a broad brush, insinuate that ALL Muslims should pay for the events of today. I'm sure that the vast majority of Muslims in the world are peace loving people. Unfortunately, the consequences of these terrorist attacks may very likely end in the loss of more innocent lives.
Where this country must be on this now is TO SEND THE STRONGEST POSSIBLE MESSAGE that these acts will no longer be tolerated. As of right now, we obviously don't know who is responsible. But making assumptions about them being Arab terrorists (a small minority of the Arab world) is not racist.
BTW, I just put my American flag out in a symbolic gesture of support for this country. If you have it, fly it!

Where did I suggest firing a cruise missle at anything or anyone. The likelihood is that Arab terrorists did this abhorrant thing. I don't know what your problem is. You call me a racist for suggesting that this is probably Muslim in origin. You are the child. Don't bother me anymore numbnuts.
P.S.
I believe the notion of an independent Palestinian state was buried today. I'm no fan of Israel per se, but the idea of making peace with people dancing in the streets, passing out candy because over 10,000 innocent men, women and children in America were killed today, should seal the fate of that.

Are Muslims responsible for this? Given their long and recent history of terrorism around the world and given their statements of contempt for this country, I'd bet the farm on it. Muslims also believe that dying while killing infidels instantly rewards one with communion with Allah. Could I be wrong? Yes, but in the absence of a probable alternative perpetrator, my sense is that this is the work of Arab terrorists. (Muslims)
Racism has nothing to do with it and only an absolute fucking idiot would throw down the racism card.
